"A ton
of typical biomass will yield about 80 gallons of cellulosic ethanol."
Maurice Hladik has recently founded his consulting company, Biomass4Energy to assist communities interested in attracting a biomass processing investor and also to facilitate community relations for companies with a requirement for long term sustainable biomass sources. Prior to this he had over ten years experience in biomass related activities. For nearly a decade he was Director of Marketing for Iogen Corp. which along with Shell is a leading developer of cellulosic ethanol technology. More recently Maurice was CEO of Aboriginal Cogeneration Corp. a developer of downdraft gasifier technology which is also biomass dependant. Both positions involved extensive involvement with sourcing biomass and developing relationships with rural communities particularly in the US.
Earlier his career took him overseas to Germany, China, New Zealand, and South Korea in the Canadian Foreign Service where he was often involved with agriculture and food issues. Maurice has an MSc and a BSc in Agriculture Economics from the Universities of British Columbia and Alberta. He was born and raised on a farm and was an active farmer into early adulthood. This experience is particularly helpful when involved with farmers and rural community leaders. For further information Google "Maurice Hladik".
